World Food Days Of The Year

This big nifty guide lists all of the world food days of the year by month in 2022. The “national” holidays refer to US holidays, most of them adopted by Australia. Also, the days that vary in date have the year jotted down beside them. This list is good for restaurants, good for marketing teams, good for people who love to throw taco parties. Yep, Taco Day on October 4th is just for you.

This list of all the world food days is a very good page to refer to and bookmarking is encouraged.
World Food Days | All The Days Of The Year

While we’re mostly excited for July and all the chocolate, cheese and chippies the month will bring, there’s one other day that should be noted above all other world food days. The official World Food Day on October 16th was organised to bring awareness to the impact of development on food production and distribution. This is an especially good day to raise awareness for people all over the world suffering from hunger. It’s also a good reminder to donate to a food charity.

Another noteworthy day we love to celebrate is Eat What You Want Day. It’s literally a day when you can just eat what you want. Whatever takes your fancy. Refreshing huh? It’s the antidote to what the media constantly bombards us with. Every week we’re told about something that isn’t good for us, and something we simply must include as a ‘superfood’ in our diets, no matter the cost. Every decade women are pressured to live up to a new ideal: stick thin in the 90s, curvy in the 00s, a thing gap pouty lips in present times. Food fads and body ideals come and go and they’re unfortunately leaving a long negative trail behind. What we love about Eat What You Want Day is that it attempts to promote a guilt-free, stress-free mentality when it comes to food.

So, how did this glorious day come about? A couple, Ruth and Thomas Roy who ran a holiday business, created the day so that people could let go of the stress that comes with food, and enjoy it for what it is. It’s about a change in food frame of mind and it promotes a positive relationship with eating.

To celebrate it, eat whatever you want, it’s really that simple. Don’t worry about calories and carbs and have a day enjoying what you eat for a change. It could be a day scoffing mac ’n’ cheese, or a whole lot of chocolate mousse. It could be eating your favourite foods even if they’re healthy in a really fun way. Eat at home or head out for a meal. Do it alone or with your fellow food-lovers.

With 141 food days listed here, there’s a 38.64% chance that today is a food day. There are many ways to celebrate a food day, the best way being to eat the commemorated food, and share it with others.
